Apple TV to HomePod

I purchased the HomePod specifically to use with my new 4k Apple TV in my workout room.

I set it up tonight and the thing works great with the iPhone playing music and the volume is adequate for a less than quite environment. I was disappointed that Siri cannot access my playlists on the iPhone by name, perhaps I am doing that incorrectly. So I have to use the iPhone to control the content, no big deal.

However, when playing sound from the Apple TV to the HomePod, the maximum volume is not nearly loud enough.

The little speakers in my Sony TV get much louder.

I hope there will be a software fix for this, otherwise, I am sending it back!

I know its a small speaker but the level of volume it CAN produce is much louder with the device connected to my iPhone, so I know it could be louder when connected to the Apple TV.

This harkens back to the original Apple Blue Tooth Headset, which when first introduced had a nice loud (almost too loud) volume setting for noisy environments, but after a few IOS updates the max volume was too low. But at the same time you could connect the wired headset to the iPhone and play it at brain-melting volume. Go figure. Save my hearing during a phone call, but let me go deaf listening to rock.

Fix it!

Mike
